Hey there, I recently adopted the wiki and am removing all staff that have been inactive for over a year. Please confirm wether you wish to keep your admin rights on this wiki. If you don't reply within a week, I'll assume you are inactive and demote you.
I recently attempted a new badge track for articles in both Greek mythology and Roman mythology categories. To this extent, I linked the two under a hidden category here. However, it doesn't appear to be working. Any help would be appreciated.
You said you tried putting in two categories for one track? The problem is that you can only have one category per track. I went ahead and created the Greek Mythology track, you can customize those badges to your liking and you can make the Roman one if you like, too.
Something seems to have happened to the wiki that screwed up some of my family tree templates, like this one (Kuru genealogy). I just want to know if it's only me with this problem and/or if it can be changed.
You should remove me as an active admin, I am not active anymore... :(, I am so sorry, a lot of things have come into place and I do not have that much time to edit and there is no internet access on my work anymore. I abandoned the Stargate Wiki in spanish with regret as I can no longer edit that much, and I edit on the Dexter Wiki but only from time to time, I really apologize for my absence.
Not to worry! Also, I have an idea for main page navigation, using buttons (for lack of a better word) as hyperlinks, like I saw at the Age of Empires wiki. I've got examples for six of the mythologies (Greek, Egytpian, Norse, Celtic, Hindu and Roman) and I wanted to ask you for your opinion (and possibly if we need any more/different pics).
Sorry to be a bother but is there a chance we can have a featured article/image or a Did You Know section on the main page? I looked it up on the Community Central Wiki but because I am exorbitantly bad at coding there is little chance I can manage to pull it off.
We do have a Featured Article section on the Main Page, nobody ever participated in the voting for it nor suggested any so I stopped updating it but you're free to give it a comeback. It requires next to nothing in coding since I have already had the section on the front page.
Here are some pages you will need though for featured articles:
Mythology Wiki:Featured Article Voting, this is the page where one may suggest a featured article. Anyone is allowed to add a section and whatever section has the most votes, by the time you're ready to update with next month's, that one becomes the new featured article. Other duties of this page is obviously making sure that everyone follows the format and making sure usernames vote no more than once per section.
Mythology Wiki:Featured articles, a featured article archive. Copy-and-paste the previous featured article into a new section that is named consistently (if you don't know the mouth or year, all you do is check the edit history on Template:FeaturedArticle).
Template:FeaturedArticle, the page where you place the featured article. Copy-and-paste the first paragraph or more (depending on the paragraph's size) into the "Content" field on the Scrollbox template on the page. Then you replace the picture (can be aligned left or right but please keep it at 150 pixels or smaller [depending on the file]) with one from the featured article. Finally, you change the "View Full Entry >" link to the feature article's page name. Everything else stays the same.
And if you don't see a change on the Main Page when you update the Featured Article template then just go to the arrow right next to edit and then click on "Purge", this forces the page to refresh completely and show all changes made. If you have any other questions about this or anything else, don't hesitate to ask me. I honestly don't mind, you haven't been a bother yet.
