A Bluecap is a legendary fairy or ghost found in English folklore.

Myths & Legends[]

Bluecap's are English mine spirits. They were known for helping miners with their work. Miners would report mine carts with an eerie blue flame above them moving all on their own.

According to legend, they were considered to be very similar to the Brownie, with the most notable difference being that they expected to paid for their labor. They were known for taking silver if they were short-changed and leaving silver in the mine if overpaid.[1]
