Akhlut is an orca spirit from Inuit mythology that takes the form of a gigantic wolf or a wolf-orca hybrid when on land.

Myths and Legends[]

It is a vicious, dangerous beast that ventured onto land in order to hunt humans and other animals. Its tracks can be recognized because they are wolf tracks that lead to and from the ocean, indicating that the creature is waiting for prey under the water nearby.

Often, dogs seen walking to the ocean or into it are considered one of these malevolent beasts. Little is known of this spirit other than that can transform between and orca and/or wolf.
