Aeacus and Telamon

King Aeacus was the son of Zeus and king of the Aeginetans. He helped Apollo and Poseidon build Troy's walls and it was prophesised his descendants would be the only ones able to break through its walls. He was the father of Peleus and Telamon, grandfather of Achilles and Ajax.

He was beloved of the gods and when a drought parched all of Greece, the Delphic oracle proclaimed the drought would cease only if Aeacus himself would pray for it to. When Aeacus did, his prayers were answered and he later erected a temple to his divine father on Mount Panhellion. His descendants, the Aeacidae, would be influential during the Trojan War. He later became a judge of the Underworld with Minos and Rhadamanthys, Cretan kings.
